Clan Maxwell Society participated in this annual event in 2002 for the first time, and the tent welcomed a good number of visiting Maxwells, allied family members and others during the March 23-24 week-end. Unfortunately, the weather in Edmond, Oklahoma, was less hospitable than the assembled clansmen, with high winds knocking down several of the clan tents. The Maxwell tent stood through the torrents, however, and our Oklahoma Commissioner, Jim Curtis, used the occasion to make great progress in expanding Clan Maxwell Society’s presence in that part of the country. Clan Maxwell was within a few votes of earning USCO’s “Honored Clan” designation for next year — a great beginning, indeed!
