Hugh Laughlin of Ballygraffin Townland near Kircubbin married Ann Maxwell circa 1812. They had five children: Eliza c.1813, Jane c.1815, Robert c.1817, James bap.13 Nov 1818 at Glastry Presbyterian Church, Ann Jane bap.25 Nov 1822 at Glastry Church. Hugh’s mother was named Jane. His father was named Robert. Therefore, I think Ann’s mother was Eliza and her father was James Maxwell per scot’s naming custom. The 3rd girl is then named after her mother. Ann Maxwell Laughlin died 4 Feb 1825 at age 27, b.c. 1797 or 1798. I will post her gravestone next.
