My family lived somewhere in NC in the 1790s. One of my 4th great uncles was named Henry Simpson Maxwell and was born in NC on 4 August 1794. He probably couldn’t be the offspring of a marriage that took place in 1804, but I believe there must be some Maxwell-Simpson connection in my direct line. Simpson remained a common middle name in my family for generations.
